Based in Dallas, Texas, Adriana Beekman is the Assistant Director of Advocacy at the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center, deeply dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence. With a personal connection to the communities she serves, she raises awareness, educates individuals about sexual violence, and ensures survivors receive trauma-informed care, resources, and know their rights.
Adriana’s journey began as an advocacy intern at a domestic violence and rape crisis center. After completing her internship, she became a full-time family advocate—a role that affirmed her passion for this work. Now, she oversees the center’s advocacy internship program, drawing from her own experiences to provide meaningful learning opportunities. She intentionally designs the program to equip future advocates with essential tools, empathy, and insight.
Her daily work is rooted in health equity and social justice, grounded in supporting survivors from all backgrounds. Through training, resource development, and community partnerships, Adriana strives to dismantle systemic barriers and elevate survivors’ voices and healing journeys. Leadership, to her, means using one’s voice to unite and inspire collective action. She is motivated by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s words: “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” With determination and compassion, Adriana continues to advocate for survivors, working tirelessly to create a more just and equitable world.
