Timberlee Whiteus

Health Promotion Specialist and Adjunct Lecturer

University of Michigan

Timberlee Whiteus lives in Ann Arbor, MI, where she serves as a Health Promotion Specialist at Wolverine Wellness and an Adjunct Lecturer in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. She feels deeply connected to the communities she supports, understanding the complex experiences many students and young adults face—whether it’s being first-generation, exploring identity, or managing mental health challenges. Her work is grounded in empathy and cultural humility, with a focus on co-creating spaces where all students, especially those often overlooked, feel valued and supported.

In her current role, Timberlee builds staff and faculty capacity across campus by developing resource toolkits and leading trainings that help better support students from marginalized backgrounds. Outside of work, she volunteers with the Detroit Phoenix Center, where she has supported unhoused and housing-insecure youth.

Timberlee is committed to advancing health equity and social justice through education, advocacy, and compassionate action. She believes that leadership isn’t just about confronting harmful systems—it’s also about nurturing care and belonging. Inspired by the idea that “rest is resistance,” she views rest as a radical tool for community healing, reparations, and liberation, and brings this belief into the intentional spaces she cultivates for others.
