Calling Mzuzu, Malawi home, Faith Tionge Kamanga closely engages with local communities by supporting health initiatives that address pressing needs, including maternal, newborn, and child health, as well as primary health care services. She collaborates with local leaders, health workers, and community members to strengthen service delivery and ensure interventions reflect the lived experiences and priorities of the communities she serves.
Outside of her current role, Faith is proud of her internship at Bwaila District Hospital, where she assisted women during childbirth, contributing to safe deliveries and the lives of mothers and newborns—a deeply rewarding experience that fueled her passion for maternal and child health.
In her current position, Faith has led impactful initiatives such as the IMPALA Project, introducing digital patient monitors in neonatal and pediatric wards that enable timely interventions and reduce neonatal mortality. She also contributed to the Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Project by overseeing facility refurbishments and renovations, ensuring Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BeMOC) services are functional and accessible in underserved areas.
Faith is committed to health equity, believing that everyone, regardless of background or location, deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. She is inspired by the quote, “When a leader lacks confidence, the followers lack commitment,” which drives her approach to leadership and community impact.
