Aasit is from Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate degree in Public Health at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate, he traveled to rural Guatemala to work on an infrastructure development project to build a kitchen that today, serves nearly 350 children. He also traveled to Costa Rica where he spent time learning about the various health care delivery mechanisms in place. Additionally, Aasit spent time with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, first as part of their Division of Acute Communicable Diseases, and later in their Division of Epidemiology. Aasit went on to earn his Master's degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, where he wrote a final paper on the perceptions of individual participation in HIV clinical trials and created perceptual maps detailing the change in behavior. After completing his Master’s degree, Aasit moved to Mumbai, India to work on prevention of violence against women and children with an organization based in Dharavi, one of the largest slums in South-East Asia. In his spare time, Aasit enjoys traveling, relaxing with friends, and cheering on the Philadelphia E.A.G.L.E.S!!
