Aisha is from Blantyre, Malawi. She completed her undergraduate studies at Chancellor College, University of Malawi where she majored in statistics. While in college, Aisha served as the first female president of the University of Malawi Students Union. Upon graduation, Aisha volunteered at the British Council where she spent time with communities in Luchenza, Malawi and Norfolk, England focusing on climate change and food security through a program called Global Xchange. Before returning to Chancellor College for her master’s degree in development studies, Aisha worked on various research projects as a research assistant. During her breaks, Aisha volunteered for an organization called Mai Aisha Sisters and Youth Program, which works with communities on HIV/AIDS home-based care and micro finance projects. In her spare time, Aisha enjoys reading, cooking, baking, and watching TV.
