Alice Bayingana hails from Kigali, Rwanda. As an undergraduate at Machester University in Indiana majoring in bio-chemistry, she interned with the Health Development Initiative, a local Rwandan NGO. She credits this experience as the beginning of her love for public health work. After graduating from Manchester University, Alice returned home to Rwanda to work with Rwanda’s Biomedical Center’s HIV and STI division’s monitoring and evaluation department. Alice enjoys reading, coffee, music, and a good hike every once in a while. She is also very excited to climb Mt. Nyiragongo in Rwanda before the end of 2016.
