Alyson Klausing hails from Itasca, IL. She is a passionate nutrition and social justice advocate. Alyson spent six months in Malawi working with an NGO focused on refugee education and income generating opportunities in which she assisted female and disabled refugee groups to triple their income by the end of her time there. Alyson holds a Master of Public Health in global health, maternal and child health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her master’s fellowship in Phalombe, Malawi which focused on reproductive health and secondary school education as a protective factor against the incidence of HIV among female youth. Alyson has spent the past nine years volunteering at a children’s group and as an administrative leader at her local church. During her free time, Alyson enjoys walking, hiking, serving at church, and cooking.
