Author: Amritpal Sandhu

Amber is from Los Angeles, California. She completed her undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University, where she majored in Journalism and has also worked as a licensed vocational nurse for the past eight years. After graduating from college, Amber traveled to Kenya where she volunteered at a hospital and worked in the medical ward, as well as the HIV and TB clinic. She also traveled to northwest Kenya as part of a humanitarian mission to provide food and medical care to the Turkana people affected by drought, and also provide medical care to the people of the Gioto Garbage Slum in Nakuru. Amber’s writing has been featured in various publications about social justice issues facing the Indian community. She also likes to volunteer with her local Red Cross chapter whenever she can.
