Proudly from Kampala, Uganda, Angel Kene Akello is a dedicated youth advocate who drives change by promoting health equity initiatives through her work as a Senior Youth Advisor at the Uganda Red Cross Society. In her role, she successfully coordinates community youth activities, including blood drive mobilization, health and sanitation campaigns, and mental health therapy for youth members. Additionally, she facilitates the organization of youth and Annual General Meetings. Angel advocates for youth policies and capacity building while also pioneering youth mentorship. She was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Humanitarian Service for her ongoing commitment to advancing adolescent health access. As a GHC fellow, Angel is eager to continue her learning journey in sustainable health progress, particularly in promoting health equity and addressing challenges in the sector. She aims not only to learn continuously but also to share effective techniques for driving change. Angel hopes to bring a global perspective to local and national networks to benefit the communities she serves.
