Anibal Marie di Francia Niyitanga is a Rwandan architect trained at the University of Rwanda, where his thesis focused on housing as a social problem. Anibal has interned with Genesis Architecture Studio, General Architecture Collaborative, and MASS Design Group where he was focused on how these organizations respond to community problems through architecture. At General Architecture Collaborative, he worked with local communities empowering them to build houses for themselves using earthbag construction techniques. Anibal has also worked as a research assistant with the research organization IDinsight, which solidified his belief in research-based decision making. Prior to entering the research field, Anibal worked as an administrative clerk with International Organization for Migration on training of trainers workshops.
