Anne Marie Collins is from Glasgow, Scotland. She has most recently worked with UN Women as an intern and then as a consultant on projects in two conflict zones focusing on reducing gender-based violence. Anne Marie attended the University of Strathclyde for her undergraduate studies where she majored in Latin American studies and human resources management. From there she went on to work on a range of NGO projects in the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Spain. Anne Marie pursued a master’s degree in international humanitarian action. She studied in both Germany and the Netherlands and completed her thesis research project on sexual violence in Columbia. She has worked in Malaysia on HIV education, in Spain as a Spanish Red Cross project assistant and in Washington DC as an intern with the Inter-American Development Bank. She also spent time with Amnesty International, the British Red Cross and a grassroots organization in Spain campaigning against unjust cuts to health and education programs.
