April Stewart hails from Minnesota, USA. She is passionate about working to enact culturally competent health policy that targets health disparities by directly engaging community members. April holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, where she also worked as a project associate for the university’s International Innovation Corps. Prior to joining GHC, April spent two years in India working to increase data-driven decision making in Rajasthan's Department of Education and Karnataka's Department of Health and Family Welfare. Before graduate school, April worked at a charter school in Chicago, where she supported the procurement of a healthy, local food vendor and managed the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant Program. During her free time, April enjoys crossword puzzles, gardening, and singing.
