Bevis Phiri hails from Lusaka, Zambia. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Zambia (UNZA) where he majored in development studies and minored in economics. While at UNZA, he served as a research supervisor for an International Labour Organization project with Equilibria Consulting Ltd. After graduating, Bevis worked as a research assistant on a quality of care on maternal and child health project with the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research, as a geographic information systems (GIS) enumerator on a malaria indoor residual spraying project with Akros Global Health, and later as an intern and program officer for the Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development. Prior to becoming a GHC fellow, Bevis worked with Innovations for Poverty Action as a stakeholder data management intern. Bevis enjoys working out, swimming and visiting new places.
