Bonita Nanziri hails from Kampala, Uganda. She is a software engineer with a fierce passion for health and women in STEM. Bonita represented Uganda at the Imagine Cup World Finals in 2014 with her project mDex, a smartphone-based sickle cell diagnostic tool. Her team, Afrigal Tech, was recognized by Uganda Registration Services Bureau for its contribution to innovative research at the World IP Day 2018. During college, she completed an internship at Kenya Ferry Services in Mombasa and volunteered with numerous Girl Geek Sororities. She is a proud mentor of Girls in STEM and worked as a system support intern for NetDocuments. In her free time, she enjoys singing, photography, traveling, and reading. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Makerere University.
