Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Brandon Bond is a passionate advocate for mental health and holistic well-being. As the Mental Health & Well-Being Student Advocate in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan, Brandon spearheads college-wide strategic planning and intervention implementation efforts for public mental health and systemic well-being support needs. His work supports students from a range of underrepresented backgrounds, including students with disabilities, first-generation students, and LGBTQIA+ students. Brandon's advocacy extends beyond campus borders. Collaborating with Active Minds and MTV Entertainment, he actively contributes to creating and implementing a national youth mental health peer support campaign called ASK: Acknowledge, Support, Keep-in-Touch, the “stop, drop, and roll” for informal peer support. The Mayor of Ann Arbor has also appointed him to serve as the City of Ann Arbor's Human Rights Commissioner. Brandon is looking forward to engaging with his co-fellows and the wider GHC community. For him, “Each interaction, lesson, and exposure point enriches my perspective, allowing me to better understand the root issues and solutions. I'm excited to engage with like-minded individuals passionate about local and global change.”
