Brittany Gianetti hails from New York, USA, but she has lived in the San Francisco Bay area for the past six years while pursuing her graduate studies. She is a scientist interested in addressing infectious disease research from a global health perspective. Brittany attended Virginia Tech and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry. During college, Brittany co-founded a student organization called the Coalition for Refugee Resettlement that provided services to refugee populations in the Roanoke, Virginia area, including adult ESL classes, citizenship test preparation classes, and in-home tutoring for school-aged children. After college, she went on to complete her PhD in infectious disease research at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by her MPH in epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley. In her free time, Brittany enjoys hiking up high and taking in the views.
