Caitlin is originally from Durham, North Carolina. In 2013, she completed a year of AmeriCorps service with the Philadelphia Health Corps where she co-ran a medication assistance program for underinsured patients at a community health center in West Philadelphia. Caitlin received her bachelor’s degree in international studies from North Carolina State University and spent a semester studying at the University of Ghana. After university, she interned for the Haiti Outreach Program, blogging and promoting fundraisers to support health and education initiatives in the municipality of Boucan Carré, Haiti. Before joining GHC, Caitlin worked for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health focusing on quality improvement for the eight city health centers. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors, painting, and attending poetry slams.
