Carolyn is from Kampala, Uganda. She completed her undergraduate studies at Makerere University, focusing in Information Technology. During her studies she was part of the implementation project "Integrating [Information and Communications Technology (ICT)] into Agriculture for Improvement of Farmers' Livelihoods," a Commonwealth of Learning (COL)-funded project exhibited at the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference. She is completing her Master's in Environment and Natural Resources at Makerere University focusing in Climate Change. As such, she is currently part of a global modeling team running Global, Regional and National Climate Change Projects under Makerere University aimed at assessing likely Climate Change impacts on different sectors to advise policy makers and put in place early contingency plans especially for the farming communities. Carolyn is a Global Health Corps (GHC) fellow (2012-2013) who was placed at Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) working as the Distance Learning Officer. Carolyn is co-founder and works with the Open Distance Learning Network for Lifelong Learning for Farmers (L3F). Prior to joining GHC and IDI, she was working as a virtual ICT intern for the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM). She is also co-founder and worked for Access for Action Uganda, an NGO aimed at helping disabled persons, especially those affected with HIV, and teaching vocational skills to youth populations. She enjoys working with children and young adults and sharing agricultural skills gained from the Professional Food Security Fellowship Program she went through in the U.S.
