Health equity is when the inalienability of health as a human right is acknowledged and one's health outcomes are not dictated one's financial capacity. It is provision of health services as a full package without fail on any component of well being universally.

Charles hails from the Kyankwanzi District in Uganda. Having personally experienced health inequities, he has made it his personal mission to promote health equity and work for change. Prior to joining GHC, Charles worked as a Research Associate for Adroit Consult International, a leading research firm in Uganda. Additionally, he took part in the UNLEASH Innovation Lab 2019 in Shenzen, China where he worked with a multinational team to develop a cost-effective and easy to install biodigester that uses charcoal and firewood as a source of energy. For this work, he won an award for most innovative SDG7 project. Michael was also a team leader for One Health Central in East Africa, working to implement low-cost solutions to a lack of health information and sanitation equipment at the Kasangati Health Centre IV in Uganda. In his free time, Charles enjoys reading novels and going on adventures to new places.
