Health equity means not only striving to make health care resources accessible to all people regardless of identity or location, but also ensuring that the needs, values, and experiences of the communities we serve are always at the center of these efforts.

Charlotte is from Norwalk, Connecticut. She graduated from Oberlin College with a major in comparative American studies and a minor in Hispanic studies. Charlotte focused her studies on understanding healthcare access in the U.S., culminating in a senior honors thesis that investigated narratives about addiction and motherhood in contemporary America. At Oberlin, Charlotte worked as a peer counselor in the school’s Sexual Information Center (SIC), where she organized campus-wide events such as Safer Sex Week and taught a comprehensive sexual health education course. She also worked as a Writing Associate in the Oberlin College Writing Center, which—in conjunction with her work for the SIC—helped Charlotte develop a passion for peer counseling and education. Prior to joining GHC, she taught English in the health careers branch of an adult vocational school in A Coruña, Spain. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and reveling in the current golden age of television.
