Choolwe is a Zambian economist who has a keen interest in sexual reproductive health rights. He is widely recognized for his contribution to the fight for equal opportunities and the rights of women, people living with HIV, and LGTBIs in Zambia. He was a guest speaker at several human rights conferences in the area of sexual reproductive health. Coming from a country that is badly affected by HIV/AIDS and the spread of dogmatic cultural beliefs that have disadvantaged women and minority groups, Choolwe has played a major role in ensuring that human rights are respected regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation. He has worked for the University of Zambia (UNZA) HIV Response Office, ZAMANAWE, Population Council, UNHCR, UNZA Radio, and a regional organization called the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). This organization comprises 19 Member countries in eastern and southern Africa. He is committed to the fight against HIV/AIDS and poverty, and for the rights of minorities.He has worked for the following organisations in the past; UNZA HIV Response Office, ZAMANAWE, Population council, UNHCR, UNZA Radio and a regional organization called Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). This is a regional organization for 19 Member countries in East and Southern Africa. He has interest in the fight against HIV/AIDS, poverty, and fighting for the rights of people who are considered to be in the minority.
