I choose to pursue work that engages in eliminating global health disparities and GHC provides an opportunity for me to affect that change.

Christina grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland. As an undergraduate student at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, Christina conducted biomedical research in infectious disease. She was the first undergraduate student selected to be a part of a health international training program as a Tropical Disease Health Research Intern with whom she traveled to Ghana where she researched cerebral malaria. After graduating from Spelman, Christina earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a core discipline in Epidemiology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Upon completion of her Master’s Degree, she was chosen as an ORISE fellow for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA, serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst for the Division of Viral Hepatitis. Christina also participated in domestic, community based projects to increase health awareness, promote healthy lifestyles among students and local residents, and improve accessibility to healthcare for low income communities. When she is not working, Christina enjoys music festivals, suspense novels and spending time with family and friends.
