Daniel Kagabo Maniraho grew up in Kigali, Rwanda. He completed his undergraduate studies at the National University of Rwanda where he majored in clinical pharmacy. Under the Rwanda Pharmacy Student Association, Daniel participated in campaigns to educate the public on prevention measures of communicable diseases such as Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to volunteer in a refugee camp working with some of the most vulnerable families and later participated in a research study led by Columbia University on community-based child protection mechanisms in a refugee context. Daniel’s passion for maternal and child health led him to attend Jomo Kenyatta University and receive a Master of Public Health. As a graduate student, he worked in rural areas of Rwanda to coordinate a Verbal and Social Autopsy study on child survival with Partners in Health.
