Denise Wanyana was born in Kampala, Uganda, raised in Kigali, Rwanda, and has lived in Tennessee, USA for the past four years for college. She is passionate about promoting health quality and accessibility. Prior to joining GHC, Denise worked as research assistant at Team Heart, where she helped develop a database that was used to collect data to determine the burden of cardiovascular diseases specifically rheumatic heart disease in Rwanda. Denise has also volunteered at Limehouse Project, a non-profit organization in East London, to help improve the health and wellbeing services offered to the local community members. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in medicine, health, and society from Vanderbilt University. During her free time, Denise enjoys visiting local cafes and catching up on medical TV shows.
