A village member once called me to her home to talk to her daughter about how to stay in school and be like me-- I had just completed my undergraduate degree and it did not seem like that big to me then but I was changed completely after. Since then, everyday I want to be better informed, empowered, and established as a flag for the girl child's equal ability and achievement in my village and beyond.

Dinnah Nabwire was born in Lumino, Uganda. Dinnah has previously worked as the Policy and Advocacy Officer for the Agency for Cooperation and Research in Development (ACORD), and served as Project Officer and Program Assistant in ACORD’s Uganda Country Program. She is passionate about issues including gender and women’s rights, child and maternal health promotion, peace building and transitional justice.
