Community is important to me because it consists of people with different characteristics but we are all linked together by social ties and mostly we share a common goal and work together to improve relationships and quality of life.
Dorothy was born in Lilongwe but grew up in Blantyre, Malawi. In 2010, she joined the Malawi Ministry of Health as a clinical officer at the Nkhatabay district hospital. During her time there, Dorothy worked with a program that educates youth on sexual and reproductive health rights. In 2011, she received her bachelor’s degree in health systems management from the University of Malawi. Since receiving her degree, Dorothy rejoined the Ministry of Health as a clinical officer, focusing on management, diagnosing patients’ problems, and prescribing treatment.
