Dorothy was born in Lilongwe but grew up in Blantyre, Malawi. In 2010, she joined the Malawi Ministry of Health as a clinical officer at the Nkhatabay district hospital. During her time there, Dorothy worked with a program that educates youth on sexual and reproductive health rights. In 2011, she received her bachelor’s degree in health systems management from the University of Malawi. Since receiving her degree, Dorothy rejoined the Ministry of Health as a clinical officer, focusing on management, diagnosing patients’ problems, and prescribing treatment.
