Doug Lau was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He has a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Science (MSc) in political sociology from the London School of Economics and a MSc in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prior to joining GHC, Doug worked for a number of health-sector NGOs in Uganda and Tanzania and consulted for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) at the agency's global headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. In his spare time, Doug enjoys reading, running, working out, and playing judo.
