Edmund Obikobo is from Tororo, Uganda. He completed his undergraduate studies at Makerere University in Social Work and Social Administration. While at Makerere, Edmund spent a year as the General Secretary of the Social Workers Association at the University. After his undergraduate studies, Edmund volunteered with Makerere-Kivulu Child Development Centre in Kampala, Uganda. He moved on to work with Wakayamba Child Develoment Centre in Nakaseke District, Uganda where he worked as a Child Development Worker in charge of health. As a result of his passion for children’s issues, Edmund joined Kakoni Child Development Centre in Luweero district, Uganda as a Project Director. Here he participated in forming the Community Initiative to Save for Development (COINSFOD), a community based organization working with youth in the Tororo District. Edmund also participated in forming YIFODE (Youth Initiative for Development), and served as a technical person with Kwapa Post Test Club, a community initiative engaged in HIV/AIDS Awareness campaigns. Edmund is passionate about working in social development and with under-privileged communities. He worked with Compassion International Supported Projects for four years before joining GHC.
