"I'm motivated by knowing that I will apply my experience abroad to the movement for health equity in a local context that is very close to my heart."

Tish is from Maplewood, New Jersey. In 2011 she graduated from Rutgers University, where she majored in History, Spanish, and Latin American Studies. As an undergraduate, she spent time studying in Spain and Peru. During her time at Rutgers, Tish volunteered teaching business classes and working as a loan officer with the Spanish-speaking clients of a student-run microfinance organization. She also worked as a research associate examining U.S. policy toward Latin America at the Washington, D.C.-based Council on Hemispheric Affairs. Tish spent the past year as a Fulbright scholar in Bogota, Colombia. Living in Bogota and working with an adoption agency there helped connect her interest in health care management and health equity with her passion for Latin American Studies. She is excited to expand her experience with public health projects this year. In her free time, Tish loves reading and running, as well as spending time with her family in the Adirondacks.
