Elyse Sandrine Ishimirwe was born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda. She attended Kigali Institute of Science and Technology, where she received her bachelor’s degree with honors in Applied Biology. She recently earned her master’s degree in Biomedical Forensic Sciences at the University of Cape Town. During graduate school, she assisted the course convener of her division in scheduling classes, revising course curriculum and planning for practical experiments. She also volunteered at Salt River Forensic Pathology Laboratory where she was involved in pediatric post-mort examinations. In her spare time, Elyse enjoys exploring nature, reading, music and spending time with her friends and family.
