I am a Global Health Corps fellow because I believe that my generation can greatly reduce the social and health disparities of our communities.

Emily Morgan Clark-Youngblood originally hails from Atlanta, Georgia. After multiple chronic illnesses impacted both Morgan and her family while in high school, she began to fully understand how health can influence every aspect of a person’s life. These experiences influenced her to pursue a degree in public health at the George Washington University. After two years at George Washington University, Morgan took a hiatus from her studies and moved to Honduras to work on a public health project with a grassroots youth-led NGO. She later went on to complete her Master of Public Health from George Washington University after developing her passion for community development through strengthening women and adolescents’ access to reproductive services and community violence prevention. Morgan began working with Population Services International in Honduras on projects aiming to improve access to reproductive health education and community violence prevention for youth. Upon leaving Honduras, she worked with the United Nations’ World Food Program in Quito, Ecuador on a program promoting food and nutrition security among the Columbian refugee population. Morgan loves to try (almost) everything, especially if it involves food, coffee or an outdoor adventure.
