Author: Evelyn Ninsiima

Evelyn is from Uganda. She is a practicing midwife and trained at the Kabale school midwifery program. She completed her undergraduate studies in Community Health at Uganda Christian University, Mukono. She previously worked with GTZ in a refugee settlement, where she helped mothers effectively utilize health services for better pregnancy outcomes and helped local children access and benefit from an expanded immunization program. Prior to joining GHC, Evelyn worked at Bwindi hospital, where she initiated a Preventing-Mother-to-Child-Transmission of HIV program that saw a significant number of mothers living with HIV give birth to children free of HIV. Currently, she works at the Uganda Infectious Diseases Institute as an EMTCT midwife mentor.
