Faridah is from Uganda and holds a Bachelor's in Development Studies from Makerere University. Recently, she has been involved in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating projects in the fields of HIV/AIDS management, gender mainstreaming, education, and child protection. She has volunteered with Voluntary Service Overseas International (VSO) working as an HIV/AIDS education program adviser based at Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, since April 2010. For two years prior, she volunteered with VSO at the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent DePaul in Abuja, Nigeria, as an HIV/AIDS health educator and outreach worker. Before joining VSO, Faridah volunteered with Forum for African Women Educationalists-Uganda chapter (FAWEU) from April 2005 to February 2008 as a trainer of trainers and mentor, and from June 2004 to March 2005, she was a volunteer with the Uganda Red Cross Society.
