Mental health specialist Firaol Mesfin Ayele calls Addis Ababa, Ethiopia home. It’s there that he supports the mental health and psychosocial capabilities of individuals in refugee camps, prisons, and community rehabilitation centers. Prior to joining GHC, Firaol served as a Lecturer in psychiatry at Mekelle University’s College of Health Sciences. Firaol also served as Assistant Researcher at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute where he contributed to the Collaboration for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Public Health in Africa Project which was developed to improve healthcare practices across several African nations. Firaol enjoys reading books and spends his free time editing videos and creating graphics.
