Francine Irakoze was born in Burundi, but grew up in many countries including the United States, Belgium, Japan, Germany and Ethiopia. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Francine continued her education in Canada where she received a Master of Global Health with a specialization in health management. For the past three years, she has worked for McKesson Canada, a private healthcare company, and held many roles including Team Leader Program Coordinator and Interim Program Manager. Francine has also volunteered with a wide range of health-focused organizations such as SickKids International, Aphasia Center and Habitat for Humanity. She speaks French, English and Kirundi and enjoys spending her free time, hiking, biking and jogging.
