Geneva Costopulos hails from Illinois, USA. She is passionate about working on global gender issues and addressing social injustices that cause health inequity and inequality. Prior to joining GHC, she worked in media marketing and public relations and was a Red Cross volunteer as a disaster relief responder in Puerto Rico for hurricane relief. Geneva also served in the Peace Corps for two years in Ethiopia, working on education, gender, and health development projects. During this time she focused on gender projects such as sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and female empowerment programs, as well as HIV/AIDS education and awareness, and taught English classes at a high school. Her work in the Peace Corps is what inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Sussex in the UK. In her free time, Geneva enjoys reading, playing the cello, and playing sports.
