Genevieve is from Dover, Massachusetts. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania with a double major in Health & Societies (Global Health concentration) and African Studies. During her undergraduate career, Genevieve interned with Penn's Malawi Diffusion and Ideational Change Project where she helped organize a team of Voluntary HIV Counseling and Testing (VCT) counselors to conduct a demographic survey in two regions of Malawi. She also spent a summer in Ghana working with Penn's International Development Summer Institute and researching public and private hospitals in the Kumasi area. For the past four years, Genevieve has been an active board member in the nonprofit Pratit International, an organization that coordinates medical clinics and health education programs in several slum communities in northern Kolkata, India. Genevieve loves learning new languages and has studied Swahili for the past three years. She enjoys being active and competed in her first half-marathon and first amateur body building competition this past year.
