Title: Advocacy and Communications Officer
To me, health equity means doing away with avoidable social barriers that prevent every member of society from receiving the necessary health care services.

Geraldine Kauma hails from Kampala, Uganda and is passionate about people, health, and social justice. Most recently, she worked with Reach Out Mbuya, a community-based NGO, interacting with communities impacted by HIV/AIDS and documenting success stories through writing, photography, and media engagement. Previously, Geraldine has worked with young people and was part of a team that saw the establishment of Kisakye Youth Center for youth-friendly services while volunteering at Mild May Uganda. As an intern with Wizarts Media, she also helped produce a documentary series titled "Hooked" chronicling the lives of recovering substance abusers and sensitizing young people about the dangers of drug abuse through school outreaches. Geraldine holds a degree in mass communication from Uganda Christian University.
