Placement Country: Malawi
Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
"This is an opportunity for me to contribute to the welfare and well being of people in my own country through ensuring evidence-based provision of health services to those that need them."

Grace is from Lilongwe, Malawi. In 2010, she completed her Bachelor's in Social Science studies at the University of Malawi, Chancellor College, majoring in Sociology. Afterward, she started volunteer work at Theatre for a Change in Malawi. She was hired as the Monitoring Officer the same year and has since worked with the organization for almost two years before joining GHC. Through this job, she has worked with sex workers and their clients, sexually exploited children, and others who are considered at high risk of HIV infection. She has conducted evaluations to assess the impact of Theatre for a Change's behavior change programs on these groups across the country and has also had the opportunity to use a new evaluation tool called "Batteries Methodology" in one of her assessments in 2012. Grace would like to develop her skills in monitoring and evaluation in order to help organizations run evidence-based programs that empower and improve the well-being of vulnerable groups. In her leisure time, Grace loves watching football, playing basketball, exercising, reading books, making hand art, watching movies and making new friends.
