Hanna Homestead grew up in New York's Hudson Valley. Following a stint in New York City and a year of independent travel through South and Southeast Asia, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studied political science and international studies with a focus on the global economy. As a student, Hanna interned with the Indian Institute of Rural Management where she helped conduct research in Hindi on the effectiveness of government-sponsored antipoverty programs. Prior to joining GHC, Hanna worked for US Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, most recently serving as a grants and special projects coordinator. She was also a regular volunteer in the Madison Urban Ministry's Circles of Support program, which provides mentoring and re-entry services to formerly incarcerated individuals. In her free time, Hanna loves to read, dance, and spend time outdoors with friends.
