Everyday, my day ends with a realization that there is still an untapped potential within the communities we work in such that given a sustainable and acceptable platform, they can massively contribute to solving their own challenges. This motivates me to be part of this change process with confidence and hope for transformative change.
Hector is from Lilongwe, Malawi. Since graduating from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic, with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health, he has worked as a research field supervisor at the University of Michigan in Lilongwe and as an HIV incidence study supervisor with MSF-France in Chiradzulu. He also worked on the SUN Initiative in Karonga under Plan Malawi through the Support for Services Delivery Integration project as a community coordinator. Before joining GHC, Hector worked with MSF-Belgium in Thyolo, piloting an innovative Community ART Groups model of care for HIV/AIDS that aims to decongest health facilities as well as empower communities.
