Hexin is from the Dowa District in Malawi. He completed his secondary education in 2002, and while awaiting his college entrance exams, Hexin was elected chairman of the Chigumula Interdenominational Youth Group, a group aimed at providing youth with life skills and career guidance. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and a University Certificate in Midwifery from the University of Malawi, Kamuzu College of Nursing. In 2007, Hexin was elected as Kamuzu College of Nursing Students' Union President, responsible for coordinating student activities and promoting their welfare. Since completing his studies in 2008, Hexin has worked for Neno District Hospital in the southern region of Malawi, under the Malawi Ministry of Health. He is a state registered nurse and has worked as Charge Nurse for the pediatric ward for two years. After obtaining his midwifery certificate, Hexin worked as the In-Charge Nurse in the maternity ward before joining GHC. Hexin takes great joy in working as a midwife. He is a trainer in long-term and permanent family planning methods and a service provider of antiretroviral therapy. He enjoys helping children get better and assisting women deliver. Hexin likes to learn new things and enjoys playing soccer.
