Jacqueline Nassimbwa is from Kampala, Uganda and has a background in Food Science and Technology. She acquired a BSc from Makerere University, Kampala. She started her career as a volunteer; first, at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute specifically in Village Based Food Processing and then as a nutritionist at Midmay HIV/AIDS Treatment Center. This sense of volunteerism lured her to join the Rotary fraternity to further her community service. Her professional life continued with research and development work with FAO and a European Union project, respectively. In 2008, Jacq pursued a Masters in International Health through the TropEd Network. She attained this from Charite Institute of Tropical Medicine, Berlin; University College, London; and Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. She also began a Maternal Child Health career with Save the Mothers International as a networking coordinator in January 2010. With this organization she was part of a team that founded the Mother Friendly Hospital Initiative to improve hospitals’ emergency preparedness for pregnancy related complications. It was from here that she joined the GHC team.
