Joanita Nassiwa was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda and is now a current resident of Kyebando, Uganda. After her mother’s experience with fibroids, Joan became a vocal and fierce advocate for reproductive health through communication in order to find ways to better communicate and create awareness to those in hard to reach areas. Prior to joining GHC, she worked with Watoto Childcare ministries, where she provided support in obtaining sponsorships. She received her bachelor’s degree from Makerere University in graphic design and photography. Joan has also worked as a Photography Intern in the Watoto Communications Department and as a news anchor and presenter at 104.1 Power FM. Joan’s hobbies include cooking, reading and catching up with friends. Joan wants to be part of a team of young, multidisciplinary individuals that seek to impact the lives of others positively in global health while improving the lives of people through proper communication channels.
