Health equity is achieved when one's socio-economic background doesn't determine the quality of healthcare afforded to him or her.
Joel Ryan Lee is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After reading law in England, he joined the Teach For Malaysia fellowship and taught for two years in a high-need secondary school. There, he founded an initiative to tackle malnutrition, raising money and forging partnerships to serve free nutritious breakfasts and educate youths on healthy eating habits. Then, Joel honed his corporate experience with the Boston Consulting Group as a management consultant, working with leading Southeast Asian companies. In his free time, he enjoys pushing himself with CrossFit workouts, hunting for food with great value-to-experience ratios and unwinding with his ukulele in comfy spots.
