John Lichenya currently lives in Malawi. He has extensive experience working in the non-profit sector including serving as the Director of Programs at the Rural Development Initiative. In this role, John coordinated various projects including the Msamala Orphans and Vulnerable Children Support Project and the Msamala Climate Change Adaptation Project, which involved outreach, securing stakeholder involvement and program implementation and evaluation. He also worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at GOAL Malawi where he designed multiple data collection tools as well as databases for storing and summarizing data. While at GOAL Malawi, John also monitored the activities of the Irish Aid Program Funding (IAPF) with programs focusing on HIV, nutrition, hygiene, water, village savings and loans, conservation agriculture and disaster risk reduction. John has also conducted research as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Fountain of Love.
