Author: Josephine Nkurunziza

Josephine Nkuruziza is from Rwanda and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda (NUR), Butare in 2006. She recently completed a Masters of Arts in Gender-Analysis in Economics at Makerere University, Kampala (2010/2011). The strong passion she has to create an impact in people’s lives has grown over time through her work with various organizations. She has worked with the University Women Students’ Association (UWSA), the Association Rwandaise de la Bien Etre Familiale (ARBEF), the Rwanda Association of University Women(RAUW), Never Again International (Rwanda) and Global Youth Connect(GYC) . From 2007 - 2010, she joined FAWE Rwanda as an Assistant Program Officer for Scholarship and Mentoring of the Ambassadors Girls’ Scholarship Program (African Education Initiative), which provides scholarships to girls. Between 2009 and 2010, she worked on the HIGA UBEHO Program, which provides support to children affected by HIV/AIDS. Josephine is looking forward to developing professional growth in program management, monitoring and evaluation as well as in-depth understanding of how better to work with people in the rural setting. She enjoys reading, watching documentaries and movies, and touring.
