Originally from Kigali, Rwanda, Juliette Mpano grew up in both Kenya and the UK, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. As Data Analyst at University Settlement Society of New York, Juliette supports the youth division, benefitting over 2,000 Asian, Black, and Hispanic students across Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. Working alongside Program Directors and external stakeholders, Juliette oversees data reporting and analysis that supports the procurement of funding for the organization’s afterschool programs, summer camps, college access pipelines, and more. She also assists program staff with the implementation of digital systems to automate processes, improve program flow, and support data metrics collection. For Juliette, health equity means “advocating to dismantle all systems of oppression, colonialism, and imperialism that continue to shape how healthcare is delivered today.” She is eager to leverage the GHC fellowship to collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds and cultivate the skills necessary to effect transformative change in the public health sector.
