Kamiri Kamanda is from Kigali, Rwanda and completed his undergraduate studies at the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) specializing in Finance. While at SFB he was the vice-president of a club called Hope for the Future Club, which aims to help those in need. He was also vice-president for Friends Who Care Family, which intended to help fellow students with financial problems by lending money. With Hope for the Future Club he and his peers managed to visit orphanages located in Kinyinya, Masaka and Nyamata as well as the memorial site at Gisozi. Hope for the Future fundraised for these events in order to leave something tangible for Genocide victims. He worked for two years with Actionaid International, specializing in translation and data entry. Now a GHC fellow, Kamanda hopes to add value to the health equity movement.
