Katherine Rodriguez was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and now resides in Florida, USA. Kathy makes a conscious effort to voice the experiences of those who have not yet been given a seat at the table and proposes creative solutions after personal experiences with health, social, and educational inequity. Prior to joining GHC, Kathy volunteered in adult and children’s classrooms and served on the board at GROWS Literacy Council, a family literacy center that served predominantly migrant workers learning English as a second language (ESL). She was also involved with Junior Achievement to increase financial literacy among youth. She conducted a project under the guidance of a PhD student that dissected the socioeconomic and sociodemographic factors that contributed to Hispanic and African American populations developing multiple myeloma at a much higher rate than other ethnic and racial groups. In her free time, Kathy enjoys cooking, volunteering, and outdoor activities.
